Jammin’ with JMS” Joliet Montessori School’s outdoor kids festival.  Live entertainment and activities for children begin at noon.  Special concert by “Tisa Plays” from Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music & “Kids for Karen.”  Free admission to fest.  Concert tickets $10, available through JMS events.  (815-302-5272)

American Legion Band concert 2:30 pm on the Park’s indoor theatre stage.  All proceeds benefit the band. $10 ticket donation.  Tickets through ALB members and the Park.  (815-724-3760)

The free "Concert on the Hill" series now celebrating its 34th season!!!!!  Join us every Thursday starting at 6:30pm for two to three acts of quality outdoor entertainment on the band shell. Gather your family and friends for an enjoyable evening of rousing big bands, high-stepping dancers to favorite soloists. Concert-goers invited to bring blankets and chairs for hill seating. Treat your taste buds (and pocketbook) to great $1 hot dogs and 50¢ popcorn and lemonade.  We also have nachos, rootbeer floats, frozen fruit bars and more. Entertainment line-up available soon. Joliet’s 15th Car Show has a new name: “Joliet’s Rt 66 Car Festival!” You’ll find the same great revved-up fun fills the park with antique to muscle hot rods, displays, pro and amateur burnout contests, Joliet Mud Turtles, junior dragsters, drag boat exhibitions, music and food. Fireworks Saturday 9:30pm. Awards Sunday. Event hours: Saturday 11am - 11pm and Sunday 11am - 5pm. Check back for registration forms and schedule.

July 13

Children's "Summertime On Stage" Drama Classes will present “Cinderella” this year! The classes are held in the Park's indoor theatre, where students meet to learn theatre techniques, creative dramatics, stage directions, script work, projection & much more in preparing a production. (Final production July 12 & 13.) Classes meet Monday -Thursday for 4 weeks: 1st-5th grade 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm ($125), 6th-8th grade 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm ($125) and 8th-12th grade 10:00 am - 2:00 pm ($195). Christmas Carol" is presented by Crosslight Productions, whose hilarious version is based on audience participation: making sound effects, singing, using goofy props, saying bit parts, filling in key words, etc. Great exercise of imagination for preschool through junior high. All seats $3. Discount for groups of 10 or more. Shows each day at: 9:30am, 11:00am and 1:00pm. Show is about one hour. Advance reservations required. Please call for availability and form. December 6

31st Festival of the Gnomes celebrates the lore of the "wee folk," who do good works for man and nature. Live theatre and action! Shows 1:00pm and 3:30pm. All seats still only $3 for all ages! Homemade crafts, music and more! All indoors. Reservations recommended. (815-724-3760)
